Pirlo przyszedl z Mialnu za darmo ? Niemozliwe!

Usually used either as a winger or second striker but equally comfortable in an attacking midfield role, he has become a key figure in Marco Baroni’s plans this term. The 1993-born player, who has also played as a lone-striker at times, has only found room in the side thanks to the departure of a number of older players and would be merely a fringe player had others – such as Filippo Boniperti – remained in Turin.
His strike this past weekend against Genoa took his tally for the season to eight in just ten starts, making him clearly the sides leading scorer, and giving him an astonishing return of a goal every 94 minutes thus far. He was among the 28 players Antonio Conte called to his initial training camp of the summer at Bardonecchia, ahead of some much more well-known names, proving just how highly regarded he is within the club. His invitation to join that group was almost certainly recognition for his stellar season last year, his first with the Primavera and one in which he impressed the then coach Giovanni Bucaro.
Despite being only 17 – Primavera football is still Under-20′s – he managed 21 appearances in that debut season, scoring six goals despite largely being a reserve. De Silvestro also added a series of equally good performances for Italy’s Under-18 side, with technical coordinator Arrigo Sacchi singling him out for special praise. He has since progressed to become part of Alberigo Evani’s Under 19 squad, for whom he has already scored, as he also did with the U-16, U-17 and U-18 sides.
As well as his obviously good finishing De Silvestro is two-footed, strong in the air (despite standing only 1.74m) and, when deployed out wide, is a particularly tricky player to pick up. This, allied to a good tactical awareness and work-rate, makes him an ideal winger in Conte’s systems. He scored his first for the first team this summer, the goal coming on his debut against local side Val Susa in a friendly.
He did enough in those early games to earn a place on the tour to North America, playing the entire second half of the game in Toronto against Sporting and was an unused substitute on two other occasions. The experience gained in that time, in terms of not only playing with and against quality players but also just being part of the group, will prove invaluable to his career at what is such a crucial point in his development.
It may well be expected now, but it is also pleasing to see a young attacking player come through the ranks at the club remaining humble and balanced with the commitment and determination essential to realising the potential he so clearly possesses. Having been part of the club since childhood he truly is a graduate of the system and his ability is a source of huge pride in his home-town of Formia, a small town on the Mediterranean coast of Latina (around halfway between Rome and Naples).
De Silvestro is blighted with none of the character flaws that so hampered the progress of Boniperti and Davide Lanzafame and this has won him the respect and attention of those in a position to help his career such as Pessotto (who is a huge fan) and former boss Gigi Delneri who saw enough to include the youngster in the Europa League squad last season and often called him to train with the first team. Hopefully we’ll see him there again soon.

Jaki on był w Turynie

Adam Digby pisze:the Appelt brothers are not allowed to play official matches until January due to FIFA rules on young players switching continent, regardless of passport status
